I really like the colour of this text and I will use this colour within my theme, however I have not decided on the text yet.

Hybrid genre:
HYBRID GENRE- is a genre that blends elements from two or more different genres together.
For example: Top of the Pops is a magazine that has a genre of pop music but they also include things about fashion, make up and gossip.
Teen Vogue includes celebrity interviews and gossip, teen discussions and fashion pages.

Sub Genre:
SUB GENRE- is a more specific genre within the main genre for example, the genre may be music but the sub genre is alternative music.
For example these are all music magazines but they are specific genres of music, rap, classical and
indie.

Genre:
Magazine Proposal
My magazine is going to be called "Replay" and the genre of the magazine is pop music the reason for this is that this is the most popular genre of music for girls as most of the pop artists are young men this attracts many teenage girls. I will include some fashion and make up features within the magazine however these features will always refer back to music, for example music video outfits or festival wear.
My target market for this magazine will be girls, teen girls from the age of around fourteen to seventeen plus. They should have a general interest in chart music and popular bands and artists such as One Direction, Justin Bieber etc, also as the magazine will include features about fashion and make-up the reader should have some interest in popular shops and brands.
The reader may currently read, Top of the Pops magazine, Billboard or Teen Vogue. The busy and colourful front cover will represent the drama and fun of a teenage girls life.
If I could choose who to publish my magazine it would be a company called "Conde Nast" they are very successful in the USA and publish magazines such as Vogue and Teen Vogue. I think they would be a good choice to publish my magazine as they would capture the correct target audience. I would charge just £1 for my magazine as it would be in a smaller shape instead of A4 and also £1 is a very appealing price and suitable for my target market to buy, the magazine would be published monthly. It would be printed and sold in shops but you could also download it and read it from your phone or kindle. My unique selling point will be that 20p from every magazine bought will be donated to a children's cancer charity, the consumer only has to buy the magazine for a pound and will be helping out a charity.
Some of the futures that I intend to include are; a review of the summer festivals and some artists performing at the festivals that my readers will be interested in, an exclusive interview with Justin Bieber, make up tips from Tanya Burr, win 1D tickets, a Nandos voucher free with the magazine, top 10 tracks of the moment and also festival wear from Topshop.

Moodboard
Music Magazie mindmap
I may not stick to all of my ideas but it is helpful to have an organised plan that I can refer to when I begin to create my music magazine.
Summer Photography Task
This photograph will work well in my magazine as it is a shot of Conor Maynard at V festival, a pop artist, the target audience for my magazine will have an interest in him.
I like this image as it has low lighting yet you can see the rave paint on the girls faces, they are at T in the Park, I think that the readers of my magazine will enjoying viewing pictures from festivals whether they went to one this summer or not.

I also really like this picture and believe that it will be attractive to my readers as it is a festival pictutre but I could also combine this will the fashion side of my magazine, talking about great festival outfits etc.

Contents Page Evaluation
My contents page I think is quite boring, even though the pictures match up they aren't all neat and in line and in my future magazine I want it all to be neat and look professional. The text is quite boring and all the same colour, it stands out from colour of the background but even though the background matches the colour scheme of the whole brand and magazine. The colour red is quite misleading and could be seen as sad or angry so I don't think it suits very much.
I have included a lot of articles and in chronological order which is what I like about the contents page but overall I think it could be improved.

Front Cover Evaluation
I enjoyed making my front cover and think that the main image is really effective, however it could be improved next time by me using photoshop better and cutting out the background more neatly.
I like the font of the masthead, the one letter a different colour stands out but I think that all of the other fonts could be improved as they are a bit boring. For my real magazine front cover I will try out a few more different ones and see which looks best.
I have included all of the magazine conventions: a masthead, a pug and offer to encourage the customers to buy the magazine. The secondary images are good and intriguing but I don't think that they really fit with the style of the magazine, they don't suit the colour scheme of red and white and black. Looking at my front cover now, I don't like where the pug is positioned and in my next front cover I definitely will include one as I feel that they are very effective and encouraging, I will just find the best place for it.

Flat plan of contents and front cover
These flat plans were helpful to me as you can plan and arrange where everything will be and it doesn't necessarily matter if things changes as it is only a plan.
Contents Page Anaylsis
Firstly, at the top of the contents page is the title, it
also has the brand name within this so that if you saw it you would know where
the contents page had come from. You would also be able to recognise the brand
if you were a regular reader of the magazine by the colour scheme of red white
and black, these colours really work well together. The black and the grey work
well with the picture as they are quite dull, neutral colours but the image is
bright.
The main image is of
a popular British Artist, Adele, she’s looking into the camera so it suggests
that the article will be very personal. As the caption of the image gives more
information on what the article will include, the mood of the image, with a
dark shadow slightly covering her face leads us to believe that it may not all
be happiness within.
All down the left hand side of the page is the features and
articles with their corresponding page numbers. They are in sections: features,
women in music and an every month section. With the page numbers all in
chronological order. Underneath the main image is another text box, a review
section advertising many reviews on all of the newest music, the reader of this
magazine would generally be interested in music so they would find these
articles of the magazine very interesting.
In the secondary image you see two men sitting, dressed in
quite dark clothing this can represent the sort of music that they make with
their laid back attitude.
